And so the competition begins! As a team, going into this competition, our main objective is to evolve the way in which we compete. Challenge the norm; Redefine the competition. In order for us to achieve this ambitious goal, Tom Vulcan, our Team and Sponsorship Manager, not only has to ensure everything runs smoothly, but effectively motivate and lead the team to victory. We as a team also have to go over our previous mistakes to better improve our work and additionally collaborate closely with not only one another, but our sponsors as well as our mentors in an effective way, hopefully resulting in a rewarding outcome.
With this in mind, we begin this journey with our team identity and logo. As of present, Ingrid Winata, Entente's Graphic Designer and Marketing Manager, has spent countless hours designing and creating a logo that not only looks professional, but most importantly shows meaning in every aspect and element with in the logo itself. Over many conversations, Ingrid effectively conveyed her thoughts and ideas into a logo, which managed to get everyone within the team on board with the idea, and thus having a logo which the entire team could be proud of when moving forward into the competition.
Therefore, with a logo completed, other marketing related materials, which Tom will use for sponsorship, can be constructed. As of now, our social media accounts for our team have been established and are currently up and running.
Jun Fu, Manufacturing Engineer, and Annabel Sutherland, Structural Engineer and Marketing Supervisor, have also been occupied with the competition. Jun has already compiled a detailed list of possible materials we could use in order to achieve a perfect finish on our final, manufactured car. On the other hand, Annabel has been designing possible ideas for a team display booth, which has to be both innovative, informative and most importantly, able to be assembled quickly when setting our booth up at Singapore.
Our design engineers, Ajurna Sanjayan, Lead Design Engineer, and Katrine Shi, Analytical Engineer, have also been busy, working meticulously to produce various car designs to find and test which areas of each car work the best aerodynamically in order to develop the fastest car. They will soon test these car prototypes through virtual and physical testing this will giving them the feedback necessary to create a faster and more innovative car than the car prototypes mentioned previously.
Entente has quite the challenge ahead of them, however, by working together, by utilising every individual's skills, and most importantly, by having a strong mindset going into this competition, anything is possible!
